So my car insurance is up for renewal in June and as it is nearly May I get to look around for a quote. (Now for a bit of a background) I was speaking to one of the guys at work and he said that there is a website called www.quidco.com which lets you get the money most people would get for referring you to specific websites such as Amazon or Play etc… One of the deals was get £100 from Churchill Car Insurance if you buy it there. So I did a quote for me in June and it comes up with £430 for the year and with my £100 cash back that is £330, which rocks. Then Chez says “Check www.Confused.com anyway just in case. The least you can do is look and you get entered into a £1million draw. So I check. And now I can get it for £296. My current insurer is looking to charge me about £800 so guess what. J
In other news Martyn at work has set-up a “Bonus Ball Draw” which is like everyone entering the lottery but you all pick 1 number (2 if your greedy) and pay £2 a week which is put into a “pot”. If your number is drawn as the Bonus ball on the Saturday Lottery you get all the money in the “pot”. So I have 2 numbers J 33 (my fave number) and 7 (Cheryl’s fave). So fingers crossed eh? If no one wins the money in the “pot” is added to next weeks in the classic lottery “Roll Over” way until someone wins. Which means it’s always someone you know winning. Plus you have a 1 in 49 chance of winning (or 2 in 49 if your greedy like me).
My car is in for it’s service at the moment and looking to cost about £400. Plus I have looked about and there are no vouchers or discounts going so this months going to be tight. On the upside I did save about £450 to pay for it so that’s good. I was given a Ford Fiesta as a “Courtesy Car”. Well lets just say it is not the nicest of cars I have driven but it’s a new one (57 plate) and has a few gadgets but it slides all over the road very dangerously even at low speeds, it’s VERY cramped (especially as I am 6ft 3in) and it’s slow. Gearbox feels a bit weak too… But hay I got it for £10 so that’s not bad.
So that is pretty much what I did today. Oh and tidy up (read shred) some paper work and clean up my room. No work today in case you didn’t guess. Or tomorrow. Or Monday. YAY!
Edit: Wait a second... Just been to the insurance website and it says that it can't do the quote yet because it's out of the "45 day range" so I think it was quoting me as a 23 year old... Which means when I go to buy it (next month) the price could go down AGAIN... BY ZEUS! My current insurance company is killing me! Come next Saturday I will find out just how much I will be paying. MUWAHAHAHA!
